Multiple selected Listbox in GridView

3 New Member
Language C#, Version ASP.Net 2.0

Hi

I have a GridView which is bound to a table which contains Restaurant information. In the Edit Row there is a Listbox (ListBox1) in the Food Type column, bound to a table containing the food types.

<EditItemTempla te>
<asp:ListBox ID="ListBox1" runat="server" AppendDataBound Items="True" DataSourceID="F oodTypes"
DataTextField=" FoodType" DataValueField= "FoodType" SelectedValue=' <%# Bind("food_type ") %>'>
<asp:ListItem Value="">(None) </asp:ListItem></asp:ListBox>

<asp:ObjectData Source ID="FoodTypes" runat="server" OldValuesParame terFormatString ="original_{ 0}"
SelectMethod="G etFoodTypes" TypeName="VLAdm inDSTableAdapte rs.tblFOODTYPES TableAdapter">
</asp:ObjectDataS ource>
</EditItemTemplat e>

The problem I'm having is that the SelectedValue property of the ListBox is bound to the food_type column in the Restaurant table, which contains a string of food types separated by commas (not a good idea, I know, but I'm having to work with an inherited database).

If I convert the food_type string into an array how can I use it to select multiple ListItems in the ListBox as it is created? I can't seem to refer to ListBox1 from the page's code behind.

Any ideas?

Hi, I have a list box that displays 2 columns. Behind it sits a query with five columns. These are Column1 (DOB), column2 (a concatenated string of Surname Forname, Title), Column3 (Surname), column4 (Forename) and column5 (title). Columns 3,4 and 5 are not shown in the list box only the first two. DOB Name: &" "&&", "&

Hi, I can't figure out how to set multiple items in a ListBox to selected when the listbox is in a User Control. When the ListBox is set in directly into a form I can use the following: listbox.SelectionMode = SelectionMode.MultiExtended; listbox.SelectedIndex = 1; listbox.SelectedIndex = 2;

Hi everyone, One of my Windows forms contain two listbox controls, with Add and Remove buttons between them. The idea is to allow users to select multiple items from one ListBox, click the Add button, and the selected items will move to the second ListBox. I've been trying to use the ListBox.SelectedObjectCollection with no success. It sounds like the logical thing to use but I can't seem to find

Hi, I want to get all the selected values of a listbox in several labels.. With this code here below, when i click on e.g. "option 2", i get '2' in label2. That's ok. But if i then click on "option 3", "option 3" is selected and "option 2" is deselected. So i get '3' in label3 but also still '2' in label2. Same with "option 1". And when i deselect everything, i still get '2' and '3'. I can't get rid of them.

Hi - Has anyone ever used toggle buttons to select items in a listbox? I'd like to put about 24 toggle buttons on an unbound form that select or deselect items in a multiple select listbox. I've come across a way to set the listbox value to only 1 at a time, but need multiple toggle buttons to be on their corresponding listbox item values to be selected. Thanks!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
