To anyone that is able to help.... What I am trying to do is this. I have two tables (Orders, and OrderDetails), and my question is on the order details. I would like to set up a stored procedure that essentially inserts in the orders table the mail order, and then insert multiple orderdetails within the same transaction. I also need to do this via SQL 2000. Right now i have "x" amount of variables for all columns in my orders tables,...

Howdy, I need to write an update query with multiple aggregate functions. Here is an example: UPDATE t SET t.a = ( select avg(f.q) from dbo.foo f where f.p = t.y ), t.b = ( select sum(f.q) from dbo.foo f where f.p = t.y ) FROM dbo.test t

I am working with Python (psycopg). I have HTML with embedded Python that I'm inserting into a database and it could contain any character. Single quotes, at least, must be escaped (to two single quotes, right?) before inserting it into Postgres. This poses a problem when I get the data out of the table. It could have originally contained two single quotes together and I replace them with one single quote in the unescaping process.

I've read and split a delimited text file into a dataset. It looks fine in a datagrid (5 columns and 5,000 rows), but I've been trying, without success, to then insert the resulting dataset called "result" into a single sql table that has an auto-increment and PK column called ID, as well as the 5 columns from the dataset. Any suggestions on a way to perform the insert of the "result" dataset into the sql table?

Hello, What is the optimal way to insert multiple rows (around 1000) from a web application into a table? The user enters multiple lines into a text box (up to 10,000). The ASP.NET application breaks that data into a string array. Each line is an item of that array. The user clicks Submit.

I need to design a system which represents multiple "projects" in SQL Server. Each project has the same data model, but is independent of all others. My inclination is to use one database to store all projects. Looking at the numbers involved, however, I wonder if I would get better performance by storing each project in its own database. Suppose I have 50 projects, each with two users and 10,000 rows; it seems to me I'd rather have 50 x...

Hi. I've been trying to insert multiple rows into a table using a single INSERT statement in MSSQL / SQL Server 2005. I could of course cheat and have my C# code insert each row using some sort of a loop, but where is the fun in that :-) If you'r familliar with MySQL, this MySQL query would do what I am trying to do with MSSQL / SQL Server 2005. INSERT INTO UserInfo(InfoName, InfoValue) VALUES

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
