VS.Net 2005; Howto supply proxy server creds when "Add Web Referen

The webservice I'm trying to create a VS.Net 2005 reference for is behind a
proxy server. When I select "Add Web Reference", enter the URL of the
webservice, click "go" etc. the dialog then displays a "Discovery Credentials
for Proxy Server" dialog.

Issue #1: when I enter my proxy' server credentials the dialog times out
with an "Unable to connect to the remote server" error.

Issue #2 (and the most important): how do I tell VS.Net 2005 the credentials
it should be using when accessing URL's that are behind a proxy server ???

TIA
Richard

Hi, I am a scientist and new to .NET programming. On my PC, I am using Windows 2000 professional with IIS, SQL Server 2000 (standard, personal), Visual Basic .net (2003, standard). By following the demo code, I can generate the web form to access the Northwind data in SQL server. When I tried to use Server Explorer to add new Data Connection to Northwind, the “test connection” always work, but click OK always give an error message:...

Hello, I am generating an XML schema for the use in Biztalk 2004. Everything works, except for one simple thing. I cannot add XmlSchemaElements to a XmlSchemaComplexType. This is necessary for the use of subrecords (nested elements, like the SubRecord1 element in the example below). I can add attributes to the complextype, but I don't succeed in adding elements to this.

I can find the add-in under program files and run it from there. I tried both c# and vb.net build types but to no avail. Is there a bug with the add-in...

Hi. I have the following puzzle: I have in the DB a table name "Login_QAByPIN". In it I'll store, for identification purposes, 6 questions with 6 answers for each registered pin. On the registration page, I have the following HTML: <asp:repeater ID="rptQA" runat="server"> <ItemTemplate> <tr> <td><%# Container.DataItem("Q") %></td> <td><asp:TextBox ID="txtAnswer" runat="server" Width="98%"></asp:TextBox></td> </

I have been perusing various blogs and MSDN pages discussing the use of event properties and the EventHandlerList class. I don't believe there's anything special about the EventHandlerList class in this context, in fact some articles from pre-2.0 suggest using any collection class of your choice. So my questions focus more on the syntax of event properties provided by the "event" keyword in C#. (Disclaimer - I am a C++ programmer working...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
