I wrote a service in .Net 2.0 that is running on a 2003 server. Every once
in a while I get the following error:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7031
Date: 8/11/2006
Time: 10:15:15 AM
User: N/A
Computer: <ServerName Here>
Description:
The <ServiceNameser vice terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1
time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 60000
milliseconds: Restart the service.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
My code logs messages to the Event View and to Text files. Most of my code
is wrapped in try{}catch(){} blocks. I can't seem to catch any error message.
Has anybody else got this 7031 error (and how did you resolve it)?
Maybe it's just a bug in my code that's causing it to terminate (?). The
service uses System.Timers.T imer() to "wake" up every couple of minutes to
perform some actions.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Donald.
