Hi this is my first post.
I have two webservers. I can run php code fine on one but not the
other. Both webservers can read files only one can write. I have looked
around at other posts and they point at not giving permissions to the
apache user.
I have chmod 777 the directory /var/www/html

We have an application where the iusr_<srvr> has write NTFS
permissions to a folder under the wwwroot (i.e. wwwroot\folder) and
also there is a SQL Server database where we must give the iusr_<srvr>
read and write permissions on the database in order for the
application to work. Anonymous access is enabled on the default web
site where this web app is located.
Because we are using the iusr is there simple exploit code that could

I have a problem with .net writing to a remote server that I need to deploy
on. The app works fine on my local machine. But when got access to the
server I went to VS.NET and tried to create a project the regular way, I got
this message "The web was created successfully, but an error occurred when
trying to configure the application root for this web. Web projects may not
operate correctly without application root. The returned error was:...

I have been developing winforms for a while.
I had an app, that downlods exchange rates from an html page from a website,
creating a dataset, and then writing the xml to the local drive.
Basically, when I need an old exchange rate, I already have it on my
dataset,
and whenever there is a new exchange rate, I have to do the access to the
html page...

Hi there,
I do not have much experience nor knowledge about security in ASP.NET nor
Windows, so I apologize if I sound naive in this question.
I developed a web application and a DLL that the web application uses. This
DLL moves files from the web server to a shared folder in a different server
in the intranet. It seems ASPNET user account can move some files but not
all types of files because it does not have enough permissions to...

Hi,
I create my Webservice in 2003 VS and test in Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Pro without any problem. When I deploy it over Windows 2003 server, It fails
to connect to the WS. I got Anonymous access check, and integerated Windows
authentication check.
My client, WinCE 4.2 device, still cannot access the web service. I got a
WebException return to WinCE.
The same setting is always work in Windows 2000/XP Pro.

Some how, some way the account that creates folders under Temporary
Internet files has been changed to a domain account for VS 2003 and VS
2005. I recently installed VS 2005. All seemed to be ok afterwards.
I did no development for a couple of weeks, came back and I kept
receiving Access Denied to Microsoft.Net\Temporary Internet Files\...
Access is Denied. ASPNET had full access to that file and all
subfolders. The website I am...

Hello PHP Group,
I am having trouble setting permissions correctly so that the
magickwand api (php 5.2) can read and
write images. I usually read a file from one directory, create a
magickwand resource from that file,
and transform the image, and save the new image with a new name to a
different directory.
I have seen that my file and folder permissions when set incorrectly,

The ASP.NET application calls to WebService’s methods , which calls

on different computer. The path is UNC path and it exists . It has the
following code :
If My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists(Path) Then

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
