SQL Server Express problems with ASP 2005

After some early aborted installations and botched de-installations of
VS 2005, SQL Server Express no longer wants to install on my desktop
machine, and doesn't even get mentioned during the installation
procedure.

SQL Server 2000 is a more than adequate alternative for most jobs, but
the specialist Login Control "CreateUserWiza rd" employs some
under-the-covers coding directed at my default membership provider
database, which it insists is SQL Server Express even although that
isn't installed on my machine.

According to the Wrox book "Profession al ASP.NET 2", I should be able to
use my Web Site Administration Tool to select my default membership
provider between AspNetSqlMember shipProvider and
AspNetAccessMem bershipProvider (as well as some others), and I should
further be able to choose between to use full SQL Server as an
alternative to Express. (I actually want to switch to Microsoft Access).

But on both my Desktop machine and on my Laptop machine (where SQL
Server Express is running as intended) I am shown
AspNetSqlMember shipProvider as the only available option.

How do I get it to switch to Access?

Can somebody indicate what I need to do, to be able to clean up my
Desktop installation of VS 2005 so that SQL Server Express is there?

Many thanks.

We have an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. We are upgrading SQL Server to SQL 2005, and are considering upgrading to Access 2003. Someone mentioned that they had heard about some incompatibilities between Access 2003 and SQL Server 2005. Anyone hear of anything? And, if so, would staying with Access 2000 be better? Thanks! Neil

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
