PR - Catalyst releases SocketTools .NET

Yucca Valley, CA, June 30, 2006 - Catalyst Development Corporation
today announced the release of SocketTools .NET, a collection of
managed code classes designed to simplify the addition of Internet
functionality into applications built using the Visual Studio
development platform.

SocketTools .NET is ideal for the Visual Basic or C# developer who
requires the ease of use and rapid development features of a component,
without the complexities of the native socket classes and without
requiring in-depth knowledge of how the various Internet protocols are
implemented.

Nineteen class libraries and components can be used to develop
applications capable of uploading and downloading files, sending and
retrieving email messages, remote command execution, terminal
emulation, and much more. Features include:

- Managed code classes written in C#, compatible with any Visual
Studio.NET language

- Low resource utilization and no external dependencies on third-party
libraries

- Support for both synchronous and asynchronous network connections

- Includes both high level and lower level interfaces for maximum
flexibility

- Thread-safe implementation with full support for multithreaded
applications

- Support for proxy servers, including secure proxies, using FTP and
HTTP

- Support for the standard SSL and TLS security protocols with 128-bit
encryption

- Support for client certificates when required by the remote host

- For existing users - class interfaces are very similar to the
SocketTools COM interfaces

- A professional technical support staff and extensive online support
resources

- No runtime licensing fees or additional royalties

A fully functional 30-day evaluation copy is available for free
download from the Catalyst web site. Once purchased, the insertion of a
serial number allows for an uninterrupted development process.

Catalyst provides 60 days of free technical support. For-fee email
support is also available. All Catalyst products come with a 30-day
money-back guarantee. A single developer license for SocketTools .NET
Edition is $395USD; SocketTools Secure .NET Edition is $695USD

Hi everybody! Recently, I am having more and more problems with the fact that my Python version is far ahead of the Python versions I have to write scripts for (CGI servers, LAN servers & clients etc. of customers, ISPs etc.). Sometimes, these Python versions reach back to Python 2.0. The question is now, how to handle this kind of problems?

This seems to be a bit of a FAQ (at least among worried Zope developers :-) ... What are the plans for Python 2 releases after Python 2.6 / Python 3 are released? First, in the 2006 State of Python, Guido said: """ # 2.7: likely; may contain some 3.0 backports # 2.9 is as far as we'll go (running out of digits :-)

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
