Hi,
I have a small console application written in c# that takes two
arguments.
I am using
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("cmdApp.exe", arguments)
to start the application from another .net application.
But I am unable to start the console application using this method.
When I write a batch file (app.Bat) like:
cmdApp.exe %1 %2

Hi I have a really basic question hopefully some can help me with:
Can you write a (i.e. one) C# project that works from the cmd line and gui?
I seems if i write a GUI app it can't write to console using
System.Console.WriteLine if thge project has its "Output Type" to
"Windows Application".
However I can write to stdio if i set output type to "Console
Application". When I do this I unfortunately get a "console box" as well

Hi, Al
I am trying to design a user interface which provides both menus and toolbars for some users to click on whatever they want to do, at the same time, I would like to have a console window available in the same form for users to enter commands and display outputs if some prefer to use character based user interface. I would like to implement the user interface in vb .net. Now I have menus and toolbars ready, but do not now how to get a...

Hi,
I have the following problem:
I have a singleton class that I want to access from asp.net
application. The trick is, that I want to create it
(Singleton.GetInstance() for the first time) in console application.
In other words, I want the following to happen:
1. start console application
2. create object
3. start asp.net and pass the object reference
4. after some time, user surfs to asp.net page, and sees some

Hello guys!
I can't resolve this problem.. I want my programm in c# working with
only console if there are some parameters, but if someone make
double-click on the exe I want to start the graphic GUI without the
black console on background..
Now I check if there are some parameters and if there aren't parameters
I run the GUI (with the black console that remain..). If I choose
Windows application on Visual Studio, when I run the...

Hi to everyone!
I have an Apache Webserver running on Win2000.
I try to start a console application an the server though PHP, with the
functions exec() or passthru() but it doesn't work.
The application starts though, but doesn't work in the same way I would
start it local on the web server (I mean though a "normal doubleclick").
I think it depends on the type of application, cause I ca start with PHP for
example other programms and...

Hello!
I am currently working on an alternative for the gnome-volume-manager
for multiseat systems based on HAL and DBus. Whenever the signal
'DeviceAdded' is received I would like to start a GUI-Interface where
the user can choose from different options. But now I am wondering how I
should start this interface since this GUI must be started by a console
daemon. What is the most common way to do that?
Usually, I start a PyQt...

We pass args to our WinForms app and would like the console to wait until
the program ends before returning.
For example:
C:MyApp.exe -r something
This returns even though the process is still running (Task manager,
processes).
I would like it to wait until the process is done.

Is it possible to have an app that is both a console app and a windows app?
If there are no command line switches then it will run as a console app, if
there are command line switches then it will be a windows app. If I make it
a windows app then I can't write to the console. If I make it a console app
then it starts a console if the user runs it from the start menu so from
what I see it's not possible.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
