Web Service call through Webproxy (bypass doesn't work)

Hi,

we call a web service in an intranet environment. The target host is
bypassed as of the IE setting. We retrieve the system proxy settings through
"myService.Prox y = WebRequest.GetS ystemWebProxy() ". The host is in the
isBypassed list of the proxy object. The proxy credentials are the default
credentials of the login account (DefaultCredent ials) and this account is
able to browse to the web service via IE.
But when we want to connect to the web service on this host the web proxy is
still queried. The whole request is cancelled due to authentication problems
on the web proxy.
If we set the "myService.Prox y = null" the request also didn't work (proxy
authentication required).
It only works when we use

<system.net>
<defaultProxy >
<proxy usesystemdefaul t="False"/>
</defaultProxy>
</system.net>

in the app settings.

Does somebody know whats the problem with setting the web proxy through
code? Why is the proxy queried even if the target host is in the bypass list?
Do we miss something here?
Thanks,

I am attempting to use a web service from my work pc which is behind a firewall. I have used wsdl.exe to create the web service reference class and added it to my project. (this seems to work without a hitch). Before I use this class, I make the necessary calls to instantiate a WebProxy class and then pass in my credentials to set the WebProxy.Credentials property so I can get through the proxy server.

Hey all - I'm having a really confusing problem concerning a web service. Right now, I have an application that needs to call a web service that does nothing but return "true" (this will obviously change once the program's fully built to actually do something, but for testing, it works). The only code I added to the service is below:

Hi There, I've generated a C# file from a wsdl file using wsdl.exe utility. Then I created a console application and made a call to the method generated, first I got the error: "The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Access Denied." Then I added a proxy validating and proxy credentials and got this:

Hi, all I have a problem of the following kind. There's a remote server that can be accessed via HTTPS (say, https://remoteserver). This server doesn't allow anonymous users, so I have to connect to it using some username/password. There's a .NET client that must access this remote server and this client can go to the Internet only through Proxy Server. This Proxy Server doesn't

Hello, I am not sure what is wrong, but here is what is going on: I have a small Web Proxy server running to test real users using a proxy. It is a basic one c#, seems to work. In my test application, I am trying to connect to a Web Service going through the proxy. When I don't go through it, obviously it works fine. Here is my code: MyWebService service = new ProxyTest.MyWebService();

I wrote a VS 2005 C# express programme that accesses a web service. It works fine when there's a direct connection to the internet, but on two different PCs with internet access via a proxy, I get this exception: System.Net.WebException: The request failed with HTTP status 407: Proxy Authentication Required. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream...

Hello, I have a desktop application writen in VB.NET. I am trying to call a web service through a proxy server. I can make the call without the proxy server, but the web server has IP filtering and my IP address has to be loaded into the firewall every time it changes (it's dynamic). I'm trying to find a way that I can do the call through a proxy server so the IP the request comes from will always be the same. I have access to a proxy...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
