I have a VS.NET 2003 project that's giving me issues. Any assistance would
be greatly appreciated!
I have a fairly straight-forward system of server controls and web services,
where the server controls access the web services for content. The prolem
I'm having is very odd.
One of my controls is calling the corresponding web service as normal.
However, the client application is continuting to process PRIOR TO the
completion of the web service.
The web service returns a small class containing two properties, one with
the content and the other with the status of the operation. When this
segment of code runs in the debugger, the object that is supposedly being
returned by the web service (you know, the one that is still processing) is
an object that was created by the classes default constructor. I can tell
because the one property is set to a null value (actually, nothing - this is
VB), and that value causes problems later on.
The real issue here is that the client seems to think that the web service
has completed processing when, in fact, it hasn't.
Has anyone else ever seen this behavior and,if so, what did you do to
correct the issue?
Thanks!
Scott

Hello Scott,
When CLR creates a structure containing def. constructor, i will use
it, so your values are default, from client side.
i suppose you are using asynchronous WS calls. Then you need to set
correct handler co get web service result ant dont forget to call
EndAsyncCall or what is that name of WS method. Then you will get that
result you need.
Does this solved your trouble ?

Hi all,
I am in process of developing a Server in C++ supporting multiple
protocols. The server will be exposing various functionalities, and the
clients can communicate over any of the protocols may be TCP, IPX, SAP,
NETBEUI to access the server to access the functionalities exposed. The
server doesnot know in advance which client is using what protocol.
ALSO, ALL THE INTERACTION WILL BE MADE OVER XML.

The company I work for has been running Access 2000 on a Windows NT

2 corruptions a day. The registry setting for Opportunistic Locking
that was on the Windows NT server does not exist on the Windows 2000
server so we can not make the...

Hi,
We have a project that requires a .NET service to convert a Word document to
a PDF document. Basically, a person would create a mail merge template in
Word and through automation, we merge the data and spit out one or more PDF
documents. It appears that the best thing for me to do is get a product
that installs some type of printer driver. The problem is that the drivers
pop up a dialog box prompting for the destination file...

I am relatively new to .Net and C#, but I hav ebeen programing in other
languages and done some COM work for a number of years. I am attempting to
understand how to map an older program architecture into .Net -- not looking
to do it at this time, just to understand how I would achieve it.
In the old environment, we had two classes, a client and a server class,
that managed a data object. The server object knew how to interface with the...

Hi all,
I have developed a windows service using the windows service project
template in VS.NET. I have used three controls in the service, a timer,
performance counter and a message queue control. The service will "sleep"
for 'n' seconds using the timer control and whenever the timer_elapsed event
occurs, I use the performance counter object to determine availability of
few resources. Based on the availability of resources, I use the...

I was just dropped into someone else's code (isn't that always so fun?).
I can't figure out why a custom validation control's server event function
is executing. There is nothing (that I see) in page_load, or elsewhere,
that says page.validate, no control says "causesvalidation=true", and the
AutoEventWireup is set to false. So I would think that the control's
server event function would NOT execute, but it does execute right after...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
