using WMI in a VB.Net program

Hey all,

I am writing a program that I would like to use to publish values via
WMI. The properties of the class are read only and simple types
(Integer, Double, etc.)

I have set a reference to the System.Manageme nt namespace and put
"Imports System.Manageme nt" and "Imports
System.Manageme nt.Instrumentat ion" at the top of the class. I
"decorated" my class with
"<Instrumentati onClass(Instrum entationType.In stance),
ManagedName("In stanceClassName ")>". I have also included "Imports
System.Manageme nt" and "<Assembly: Instrumented("r oot/CNPPID/TestWMI")>
" in the AssemblyInfo.vb file.

My question, I guess, is about the installer. I understand I need to
add a custom installer to the project to register the WMI schema. Is
that correct?

I have no experience with custom installers and even less with
installilng WMI. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Hi, My C code (running on Soalris Unix) has some "segmentation fault" that I wish to use purify to do it. I poked around the web, and found some information about adding some lines in a Makefile file to use purify. However, my code is a rather simple single-source C program, and I didn't write a Makefile for it. I'm wondering if anybody...
