I am using PlaceHolders in a Repeater to generate a multi choice survey. I need a way of testing to see what the placeholder has been turned into at runtime, and reading out the data. The admin can add questions to a survey, then add possible answers to each question. Certain functions are also set, for example multi answer (display with a checkboxlist) single answer (radiolist). Also toggle the presence of an "other" selection which...

I am resurrecting an old script from a previous programmer, and want to migrate it over to asp.net from classic asp. Tho there are other peripheral parts of the script (that really have no bearing on the core, in which I will explain), the main core is the concern. I have a daily feed from a horseracing prognosticator that gets put into an sql database on a daily basis for roughly 15 popular racetracks. A user (who will need a...

I'd like to know if there is a best approach, in terms of using the Data Web Controls (i.e. DataGrid, DataList & Repeater), for displaying data that is the result of a query that joins two tables that have a one-to-many relationship. For instance if I perform a query on two such tables, I might expect that there would be data repeated on multiple rows from table on the one side of the relationship. What I want to do is display an HTML...

Hello - I'm using a Repeater control to render information in a very customized grid-like table. The Repeater control is binded to a DataSet with several records of information. Within the Repeater control, I've placed DropDownLists and CheckBoxes. When the user has updated the information, he/he clicks the submit button which is outside the scope of the Repeater control.

Hello, I'm trying to use an ArrayList to do data binding, but am getting an error I don't understand. I posted this in another thread, but that was all confused with various other problems, which could be why no-one answered it!! I've now narrowed the problem down, so am starting a new, more specific, thread. Sorry it's a bit long, but it's reasonably simple stuff. I have a page where I'm showing product details, including any

I'm using SQLDataSource, which generates some kind of dataset, and then I attach that datasource to various data display controls such as DataList and repeater which loop through to the end of the data that was retrieved by the query. At times I may want the display control only to render some items in the set of data returned by SqlDataSource. There would be several scenarios: * render the second data item or third item in to the end...

I dynamically create controls (textboxes) in a repeater control. I know their names (eg. TextBox1). How do I find the text of TextBox1 in the Form? FindControl does not seem to work.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
