I have built a .NET based service that uses a number of related 3rd party dlls.
If I compile my code into a dll and use this in a test app all is well -
however if I compile my code as a service and try to run the service I get
the following exception:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The specified module could not be found.
at CES.VendClientInt.VendClient.GetCardTypes(...)
at YQ_Epos_server.CodeHandler.start(...)

Hello All,
I wrote a .dll that programatically maps two network drives and copies files
from one drive to the other. The .dll works fine when using an .exe to call
the .dll. When I call the .dll with a Windows Service I get the following
error - "The specified network password is not correct". This makes no sense
as both the .exe and the Windows Service are both run from my machine. I
also specify my domain account/password in the...

Hey
I have some more questions with regards to Remoting in .NET 2. I'm using TCP with the Binary formatter.
My solution consists of 4 projects:
- Class Library containing the server classes which Inherits MarshalByRefObject (ok, at this stage it only contains one class... but its gonna grow)
- Class Library containing common classes and interfaces that will be shared between all projects. This include interfaces for the server...

I installed a service program. It contained executables in the form
of .exe and .dll files. And the service was started automatically
after the install.
Then, I UN-installed the program, but the service didn't get cleared
from the "Service" panel. How can I delete this "service" from the
"Services" panel?

Hello Group,
I'm writting a Windows Services under C# to get some USB events. Because the ServiceBase class does not supports the SERVICE_CONTROL_DEVICEEVENT handler, I'm using P/Invoke to call the RegisterServiceCtrlHandlerEx funtion, using a callback to manage the needed handler. The invoke looks ok, it works.
The problem is when the services stops. My callback function receives the SERVICE_CONTROL_STOP handler but the function don't...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
