Webservice fail when return a DataSet

I create a Webservice that has only 2 methods.
One of then return a string "Hello Word" that works ok.
The other one returns a Dataset that doesn't work. When I calls this method
the error "There is an error in XML document (1, 220)." is thrown. I don't
know what's is wrong.
Could someone help me?

Hello,

Is quite strange. Are you using minus, dot, or forbidden characters like
<, >, & ?

Try to create a simple DataSet, with one dummy column row and see what
happens.

As a workaround, there is a function from the DataSet that let's you
store the XML of the dataset in one string (was it GetXml?), try to do it so
and if it works just send the string in the web service (the caller will
build it up when he gets the response).

Good Luck

Hi Btraulio,

I noticed that the issue occurs when I run the control with UserControl
TestContainer only. If I put the control in a Windows Form, it works ok.

Hello group, I'm trying to develop a proof of concept webservice which asynchronously calls a function in a DLL. The function raises an event when it is finished, and works when used as part of a windows form. When I try to hook up the webservice to the event and call the WS, the CPU goes to 100% and I have to restart the WWW service. Does anyone have an idea as to how this can be done ... and if not, directions to a tall bridge would...

Hi, I created a sinple web service that returns a dataSet. Then I created a client program that uses this web service (that returns the Dataset). My question is, how did the client figure out to create a "DataSet" as the return type from the webservice?

I have a windows CE application, talking to a C# WebService. In the WebService project I have created a dataset (dsJobList), and there is a web method in there which returns a fully loaded dsJobList dataset to the client, which in this case is a windows CE device. In the code for my application on the WinCE device, I have added a Web Reference to this WebService. Once I have added it I can see the .disco, the ..wsdl and a dsJobList.xsd...

Hi, I'm delevloping a webservice that returns typed datasets with visual studio 2005. The problem is, that the typed data set in the client app is not the same as in the webservice. If I change the property 'NullValue' of the row to (empty) the dataset on the client does still throw an exception. I added a column to see if the project updates the reference.cs - and it does! This is the generated code from the original dataset:

I have several methods implemented in a webservice written in C#. The methods execute SQL against a SQL Server 2005 db and returns a Dataset (as XML). I am utilizing the webservice from a VC++ app by adding the web ref to the project which creates the header file for making the calls. I traced through the method call in my app and found the problem in the CAtlHttpClientT<TSocketClasstemplate implementation. The problem is happening in...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
