Session_Start called more than once

Hi All,

My session_start in the global.asa is called more than
once. If I just go to the default page and refresh it is
called every time I refresh. From the default page it is
called once when I move to any other page. After that
all is fine.

I have debugged the session_start and it does, indeed,
create a new session id and none of the session variables
set the first time are there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

TIA,
Sandy

Hi I'm new to PHP and I'm trying to create a Login Form. Once the user has logged in then he shouldn't have to log in again. The trouble is I'm getting a new session ID between every page and so it doesn't recognise the user. I've used Session_Start() which I thought was meant to maintain the session variables between pages but it doesn't do work. Any ideas or FAQ's?

Hello, I would like to know if anyone has come across a problem when getting programs to work on PHP. I am running a free webmail client called Squirrel that I downloaded from the web and which works on Windows without any problems. As soon as I log in to the application and it tries to create a session I get an error message which says:

Hi, I'm a newbie. I was trying to figure out how to use the Session_start method? The reference books I'm reading say that a session STARTS when "session_start" is called. But ... in their sample code... I never see that explicitly called. Is it supposed to be called from the Global.asa file (still not sure what that is...) Is "session_start" a server-side scripting thing? Or a client-side scripting thing? I'd really appreciate a nice...

I was trying to set a cookie before I called session_start() and it was giving me an error. But isn't sessions really just a cookie? Why would it matter if I sent a cookie before session_start? Can I set them afterwards?

Why does Session_Start in Global.asax fire for every page opened during a session of an ASP.NET application? Am I wrong to expect that it would fire only when the first page (i.e., any page in the app that is opened before any other page during the session) is opened? Thanks.

I'm running into an issue with session_start(). I see that you can't run it twice, otherwise it causes an issue. That's fine, and makes sense. I also saw some ideas on how to get around this if you need to run it more than once, and I get those as well, but none are working for me. Here's a mockup of what I have: index.php info.php lib/common.php

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
