Multiple Asynchronous Delagate Callback Methods

I need to write a class that will process a qued list of items, each item
could take a long or short time based on the items. I want to use
Asynchronous Callback Methods to do this instead of creating my own threads
as I am convinced this is the way to go from researching the material.

For threads you can create an array of threads, but for Asynchrouness
Delegates you cant since each one needs its own seperate delagate and
AsyncCallback right? Whats the best way to manage this, ideally I would need
5 threads processing the que and popping them off once they complete and then
instead of ending they need to process the next on the que.

When the callback is called can I just check the que and process the next
one without calling EndInvoke? Or do I need to call EndInvoke and then
BeginInvoke again from the AsyncCallback event, can that even be done?

H I am using the articles by Matt Powell about server side asynchronous web methods (as well as the client side article) However i dont see any improvements to the speed of my application. I'm experiencing the slow speed on the server side. I read that using a delegate to call an asynchronous metho would be ineffecient and maybe causing the problem. Can someone give me some advice on wha i can do to improve the speed without doing a...

Hello, With asynchronous programming : Why does the callback-function (running in a worker thread) may not update the state of a control on the main-form ? The docs say that you must use a MethodInvoker instead as in following example :

Hi, I am working on a Windows-based client-server application. I am involved in the development of the remote client modules. I am using asynchronous delegates to obtain information from remote server and display this info on the UI. From doing some research, I know that the way my implementation works today is not thread-safe, because essentially my worker thread updates the UI, which is BAD. So, here I am trying to figure out how...

Hi! I've implemented many times an asynchronous call of a method with a call backfunction successfully. But to implement this with VB.NET is not so successfully. I can implement all events ProcessingEvent, CompletedEvent, etc. It works fine and copies all files in the background ... Bit to make it perfekt I want to implement a callback function wich will be

Hi, I have a stored procedure that I want to execute and then wait in a loop showing a timer whilst it completes and then carry on once I get notification that it has completed. The main reason for this being to stop the user thinking the application has frozen when in fact it is just waiting for a long SP to complete. Another reason for doing it like this is that I also have had a problem in the past where the SP takes longer than the...

On beginwebrequest i am sending address of one callback which i want to execute when asynchronous web request complete. It appears that System.Random would provide an acceptable means through which to generate a unique value used to identify multiple/concurrent asynchronous tasks. The usage of the value under consideration here is that it is supplied to the AsyncOperationManager.CreateOperation(userSuppliedState) method... with userSuppliedState being, more or less, a taskId. In this case, the userSuppliedState {really taskId} is of the object type,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
