I'm working with VS.NET 2003 and .NET 1.1 (not SP1) on Windows XP SP1. My
application is using the Windows Installer Bootstrap. (I may have also
installed a module which detects requirements (.NET 1.1 -> MsiNetAssembly
Support.) I have a few issues and questions regarding the MSI and its
properties.
* This may be my biggest annoyance at the moment. When the installer creates
the target directory, it's setting them as read-only. When the...

Hi,
I am trying to create an installer for my web application. So I added a
web setup project to my solution (I am using VS.NET 2003). Been playing
around with it since then and it basically works.
Now, I am wondering if there is any way to change the directory that
the installer installs the files to. I want to be able to put my files
in a specified directory (user specified is good, but i don't mind
hardcoding the path either) and...

I'm trying to find a way to set form/control properties programmatically.
In a nut shell:
1. Open a database
2. Open a form in design view
3. Do something like this:
For Each prp In frm.Properties
If prp.Name = rst!PropName Then
prp = rst!ChangeTo

Does anyone know how to set the project constants property for "All
Configurations" programmatically?
The following code does this by setting each project individually:
foreach (EnvDTE.Configuration config in proj.ConfigurationManager)

Hi,
I've created a custom component. I want one of the properties of my
custom component to be the output file name which is found in project
properties. I know that I can get this by writing a macro, but I
would prefer doing this in my component's constructor.
Currently I am trying to use ActiveSolutionProjects in the EnvDTE
object to obtain the active project but it always returns an empty
object.

I have a popup form with a textbox that is bound to a memo field. I've been
warned about memo fields so I'm wondering if I should use this code. Is
there any risk with changing the form's RecordSource like this? Am I asking
for trouble doing this with a memo field?
Thanks in advance.

Dim lngNid As Long

Hi,
I want to change the default installation folder to my own path. I did
it by changing the application folder's DefaultLocation property. The
installation works fine as long the path that I give is complete path.
If I give relative path, there is an error.
The path is relative to the location of my solution folder. Just to be
more clear, I have several projects in my solution. The setup project
contains one executable as the primary...

I've got an ASP VS 2005 project. I'm trying to figure out how to programmatically change the font of a label. From memory, this was done easily in 2003, but the Font property is read-only.
Can someone please show me how to change the font programmatically?
Thanks

Can someone tell me if .NET 2.0 framework has a namespace to enable project
references to be changed programmatically? My C# project files are stored in
source control with DLL references but I want to be create a utility that
changes the DLL references to project references in the project file. This
is so that all of the projects can be run in debug but without having to
manually change the references each time.
Obviously I can use the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
