need help In Global.asax

Hi Guys,

I need a clarification regarding Global.asax file and webconfig file.

When I was working in ASP I used to give my database connection in
Global.asa. Now in .Net we have two file Global.asax and Webconfig files. I
learnt that in both these files I can give then database connectivity.

I need to know in which of these file is efficient in handling the database
connectivity. Please give some suggestions regarding the same.

Have a look at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...us/dnnetsec/ht
ml/secnetch05.asp. It describes how to further secure connection strings
stored in web.config or registry.

I am attempting to use the Global.Asax to store my user's configuration. Here is the concept: 1. User logs on into the site using Form Authentication. 2. I capture the user Credential, verify it and then assign this Logon ID (user) a so called User's serverside cookie. 3. My system is configured to accept 1,024 concurrent users, this means...

I understand how to create HTTP modules that can be used to add functionality to a website but there are a few things I don't understand. I am new to this newsgroup & to .NET in general. I have been playing around with Visual Studio .NET, building and rendering web pages using VB "code behind" files. Hi, When you create a new web site in VS.NET 2005, it doesn't contain a Global.asax file by default and, when you add one manually, it creates a Global.asax file with in-line code e.g. <%@ Application Language="C#" %> <script runat="server">

A strange behaviour thatI found in ASP.NET 2.0. I am trying to issue a callback request (handled by ICallbackEventHandler and RaiseCallbackEvent) and a regular GET request in the client browser and handle them at the same time - in parallel. The funny thing is that the behaviour of the implementation I created depends on the existence of...

Global.asax? Use HttpModules Instead! In a previous post, I talked about HttpHandlers - an underused but incredibly useful feature of ASP.NET. Today I want to talk about HttpModules, which are probably more common than HttpHandlers, but could still stand to be advertised a bit more. HttpModules are incredibly easy to explain, so this will...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
