Found myself needing serialised access to a shared generator from
multiple threads. Came up with the following
def serialise(gen):
lock = threading.Lock()
while 1:
lock.acquire()

Hi,
I'm trying to access memory directly at 0xb800 (text screen). I tried this:
char far* screen = (char far*)0xb8000000;
but apparently c++ compiler doesn't know "far" (says "syntax error
before *"). I've tried using __far, _far, FAR, _FAR, and __FAR, all with
the same result. So, then I tried this:

We are attempting to replace one of our legacy services (developed in C++)
with one that is developed as a C# service. The problem that I am
encountering is dealing with the resources that are generated from the MSG
file. These resources are used both by the existing service code (to format
strings for internal use) and by the Event Viewer when entries are written
to the Event Log to be associated with this source.
1. Can I access an...

Hi all,
in a simple ASP.Net application with resources in satellite assemblies I
have the following problem:
If I set <identity impersonate="true"/>, accessing a culture specific
resource from a satellite assembly fails with the error message:
"Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture (or the
neutral culture) in the given assembly. ..."

Hi
I have a small WinForms app that needs to copy files from a shared drive on
a network. If I connect to the mapped drive using Explorer, a password dialog
pops-up and I have to provide credentials with permission to access this
resource on the machine where it's hosted. This is once for each desktop
logon session (ie after every reboot). If I do this, my app can access the
network resource fine, but otherwise fails with permission...

I got a curiosity while using CLR.
How can it be done that accessing object data by CLR application is safe
even while garbage collector is working? Is the GC thread running in
realtime priority for this for example?
Please reply. Thanks in advance.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
