I have a .NET service app. It needs to monitor a queue for
incoming messages.
I am creating the queue during the install with a
MessageQueueIns taller component.
The service runs as LocalSystem, which by default does not
have access to read the queue.
I have tried the following code: (

myACL.Add(New Messaging.Acces sControlEntry( _
New Messaging.Trust ee("SYSTEM"),
Messaging.Gener icAccessRights. Read,
Messaging.Stand ardAccessRights .Read,

QueueInstaller. Permissions = myACL
The install succeeds, the messagequeue appears to have the
correct permissions (in the properties box),
but the service cannot read from the queue. If I delete
the permissions and recreate them exactly(in the
properties box),
then restart the service, it works.
I assume there is something wrong with my code, but there
is very little documentations on the
MessageQueueIns taller.Permissi ons property and the objects
passed in as parameters. I have not found a single
extensive code example either.

I give permissions for ASPNET on a top level subdirectory.
A windows program copies a file into the subdirectory, however, my web
service cannot access the file because it does not have permissions.
Shouldn't the file automatically inherit permissions by being dropped
into that top level subdirectory?
