ToolStripItem Keys...

Hopefully there is an easy answer to this question since it has been
bothering me all afternoon.

What are the keys that are associated with ToolStripItem objects? Are they
keys that allow access to individual items in the ToolStripItemCo llection
object (this is what I assumed they were)? Are they the shortcut keys? I
have noticed that there are several methods (such as ContainsKey) of the
ToolStripItemCo llection class that use these key values. I can't find
anywhere to set the key values of the contained objects though.

What am I missing?

Thank you,

The ToolStripItemCo llection class implements the interface IEnumerable, the
item in a ToolStripItemCo llection can be indexed by integer or a string (
the name of the ToolStripItem), for example:

MsgBox(ToolStri p1.Items(1).Nam e)

MsgBox(ToolStri p1.Items("OpenT oolSTripButton" ).Name)

Hope this help,

Luke Zhang

Because of the requirements on a high-speed data entry form, I need to reliably trap certain keys (specifically the "/", "*", "-", and "+") keys on the 10-key pad and treat them as "Function keys". This MOSTLY works, however I am finding that not with all workstations. Does anyone know what kind of nuance might be involved here and how to avoid it? (I know it can be done because the CICS emulators on these same workstations are able to...

This has been bothering me for a while. Just want to find out if it just me or perhaps others have thought of this too: Why shouldn't the keyset of a dictionary be represented as a set instead of a list? I know that sets were introduced a lot later and lists/dictionaries were used instead but I think "the only correct way" now is for the dictionary keys and values to be sets. Presently {1:0,2:0,3:0}.keys() will produce but it could also...

I want to create a Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem that behaves as if it is an ellipse (e.g., similar to the round Office Button in Office 2007). Drawing the item is no problem, but I also want to prevent the item from reponding to the mouse unless the mouse is within the elliptical bounds of the item. For a Windows.Forms.Control this can be done by setting the Region property, but as far as I can tell there no such property for a...

I am coding a radix sort in python and I think that Python's dictionary may be a choice for bucket. The only problem is that dictionary is a mapping without order. But I just found that if the keys are numeric, the keys themselves are ordered in the dictionary. part of my code is like this: radix={} for i in range(256):

I'll kick myself when you tell me, but ... I have a user control on a form, and I want the user control to see the arrow keys when I press them. If I press just about any other key the control's KeyDown event is fired, but not when I press a direction key. I want to see them in the KeyDown event so that I can respond as soon as the key is depressed, and I want to detect when the key is held down so that I can perform an action...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
