MSWord, removing a reference to a template

Hi

I am using VS2003 and vb.net in my procject.
One of my functions is to produce a MSWord on the Web-server, and through a
VB-script save it localy on the clients computer.

The problem is when I try to open the document on the client, it takes to
long.
The document contains a reference to the template used to build the document
on the web-server.
And the client does not have direct acces to this template.

I store the document on the web-server before I uppload it to the client.
Can I remove the reference somhow?

Hi We have a application solution set up like this. A Web-server,db-server and a document server. The web-server comunicates with the two other servers. When the user uses our application he has the option to create a word document based an a template(web-server) and information from the db, and this get stored ont the document server Creating the document server-side works fine.

Hi, I transform XML data in an OutputStream which is open as a word document. All works fine excepted the images defined in the xsl file which are html links (src="images/image1.jpg"). So, when I save the word document in a particular place, the image can't be displayed cause the path is no good anymore. I would like to merge the images in the word document without any external html links. Any idea?

I am doing a job where I need to copy a letter header into each of about 100 letters which are mail merge template documents for about 20 different customers - all up about 2000 copy and pastes requiring opening each document and deleting the current header and pasting the new one. I have tried to use IncludeText to do this and having the header in a file, but it appears that the client must open each letter and refresh the link before...

Hello, I've searched the web, and can't seem to find a good reference for msword ( content type ) formatting. I am presenting my information as microsoft word doc. I was able to format the text the way i wanted, but still not sure how to format the page. In RTF1, I can format the page as Envelope so that every other page is a invoice address ready to print on envelopes.

I have to write a ASP.NET application that creates MSWord document from a template and populated with data from the webpage. (Templates can reside on the server or client's hard drive.) What is the best way to do this? Is it good idea to have MSWord installed on the server? If it's not a good idea or if MSWord is not installed on the server what are the alternatives? I am using Office 2003. Thank You

Hi, I have a requirement to remove the xmlns from the DOM in order to pass over to MS CRM 3.0 Fetch method. It seems the fetch method blows up if there is a xmlns present!?! The reason I have a xmlns present is because the Xml I am passing to CRM is a node from a bigger file that does require a xmlns and using the DOM ..OuterXml seems to set the xmlns for you automatically - which I don't want. Any help would be great.

We create reports in MSWord 2000 from within our Access 2002 application. The report template uses a lot of tables and nested tables. Over time, many hundreds of reports, Word has become difficult to use in a way that looks like a memory/display problem. In simple terms, the screen does not update when I change things in the document ie delete a line. Table borders do not display on the screen.

Hi there! I'm trying to automate MSWord in the server side. For limiting memory usage i'm writing code to make a unique instance of winword and then calling it from the php page i need. So far i've used the sleep() function to keep alive the winword instance but i think it would be better to use com_message_pump and com_event_sink to take care of the winword process.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
