Serializing DataTable Problem

As i am passing datatable from webservice to UI

My Web Method is as follows :-
Public Function GetData() As DataTable
Dim objData As New MyClass
Return objData.GetData ()
End Function

In my Web Reference i am getting reference as (Partial Class name)
Partial Class GetDataResponse GetDataResult

So, if i have to access this webmethod from my UI then i have to change
"GetDataRespons eGetDataResult" to "datatable" and has to delete the Partial
class in order to use the existing defination (This is the same case i had
faces in .NET 2003 when working with datasets)
Now whenever i change my web method class so vs.net 2005 updates the web
reference and the datatable is again replaced by .NET to that Partial Class
name.
What should i do to avoid such situation.

All, I have quite a challenging task ahead of me. I need to write an object model (for code access) based on a schema, which cannot be made into a dataset because of it's complexity. So I created a couple of objects and serializing it into XML based upon the schema works perfectly. The XML / Schema looks something like this:

I am saving and restoring value types such as Int32, DateTime and Boolean in strings. I was wondering if there is a mechanism build into .NET for serializing and deserializing these to string format. I can, of course, serialize a class to a file, either binary or XML, but this is not what I am looking for. Currently I am using ToString() or...

I am serializing datasets and sending them out to a client application via a web service. My problem is that the associated schema includes all of my connection string, database username and password and SQL info. This is bad. I can think of two ways to deal with this: 1. Parse the data out of the schema before i send it out 2. Encrypt the...

I have been experimenting with how to properly store objects into persistent application settings in user.config. I have read everything I could on MSDN (and elsewhere) and I have successfully stored objects of type String, DateTime, and ArrayList, for example. So I then tried an unbound DataGridView but it serialized with a null value. I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
