Hello,
I am trying to find a way to create a scheduled task or
service that will copy my local profile folders
under "Documents and settings" to a network drive. This
would allow me to restore my settings if my profile became
tampered with or corrupt. Is there any sample code
available out there?

Hi,
I developed a filewatcher service to monitor file creation on a network
drive - 90% time it works fine and from time to time I found out that the
newly created file on that network drive does not trigger the event - all I
have to do is to restart the service.
I kind of suspect the reason is when the target matchine where monitored
drive is on gets rebooted, the filesystemwatcher lost its "monioring"
capability, is that true? if...

Hello,
Does anyone know how a File System Watcher windows control works to detect
file changes accross the network to a remote machine?
I am trying to watch for new files in 30 different folders in a remote
machine that has around 1000 folders.
I dont know if it's wise to put one single watcher for the whole machine, or
30 different watchers because i dont know if the watchers take up bandwidth
or processing power.

I am trying to use FileSystemWatcher (FSW) to monitor a folder. The only
problem is this folder is on FTP server located on DMZ (outside my domain)
and FSW does not allow me to pass credentials in order to authenticate on
that folder.
Because of this, I mapped that folder on a computer within the domain.
Now, I was able to build a Windows app using FSW to raise an event whenever
a file was placed on FTP folder and it worked OK.

Hi all,
I have a file system watcher service that works fine on a local hard drive, but will not work across the network. I tried both: mapping the drive and "\\..." path both no luck. I don't receive any errors, it is just that FileSystemWatcher doesn't see any files dropped in the folder. What could be wrong?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
