sql server data to ms word using xml

ads
hi

i was given a task to display sql server data in ms word using xml. Im
currently doing research to accomplish the task. What i have in mind is to
create an xml template (or schema?) to load the sql server data first. Then
add the xml template in the ms word add-in option. Is it possible? Can anyone
point me to the right direction?

Thanks

My approach to this for the last few years (since Office XP) has been to
save a Word document formatted they way it should end up - as XML. And then
rename it to a XSL and put in iterators to populate the data from the XML
queried out of SQL Server. Contact me if you need assistance.

Can u elaborate your statement?hmmm it looks like interesting. What i need is
a one step configuration in ms word to accept database data then a one-click
process to display the database data in ms word. is it possible? Can you give
me links pointing to your approach?

thanks chris

I have an ASP intranet application that is required to produce Word documents merged with data from a database. I originally looked at automating Word's mail merge capabilities, but nixed that idea since I learned it's not a good idea to try to automate Word on the server and I'd rather not have to worry about whether or not the user has Word on their machines. I, instead, decided to have the Word templates saved as RTF files and to...

Hi everybody: I've developed a web application running on a 2003 server not on the web but on extranet environment of a small Firm (less than 10 users). I've taken benefit of Office Primary Interop Assemblies (PIAs) for automating Word on the server and everything runs smoothly on the server console. The word documents are generated perfectly from all clients and stored on the server with some data comes from a SQL server and/or stores...

Hi: I have an Access database that's been running (in one form or another) for a couple of different clients for a few years. Now a new client has requested that it be implemented with a SQL server back-end. I'm doing my best to learn about SQL server, and I plan to leave the front-end more or less as-is, just linking to the SQL server back end, but here's a basic question: The db has a front-end linked to two back-ends. One of the...

This problem was proposed to me but not really my area of expertise so I thought I would open it up to the forum to see if anyone had any bright ideas. The problem is generating Microsoft Word Documents on a server from Word templates and injecting data from a data source. There are a number of solutions to this problem that are less than satisfactory: 1. Use the Microsoft Word Object Model is not good as it requires the installation of a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
