I have set up an ASP script (with some help from microsoft.public.inetserver.asp.general!) that grabs the windows username of the user and puts it into an Access database.
It is setup on IIS5 as a virtual directory and will only be used internally on our network.
The script works fine with the authentication set as "basic authentication" but this prompts the user for a login and password.
I want it to be automated which I believe would...

I would like to setup a form that will log the users logging in to a
db. The form and the Db will currently log the users if they complete
the logon and get in. It will then log the entry, but not if they
fail to login. If they fail I would like it to log the attempted pass
and the computer name from where they are logging in, the systems are
both win2k and win98 under access 2K.

Hello,
My Setup is I have a Web Server machine(Devweb01), Database SQL
Machine(Devsql01), a Client Machine(local machine) I have configured the
SQL machine as follows:
1) Added local Aspnet user account (with same password as aspnet user on IIS
(Devweb01))
2) edited local machine.config file <ProcessModel> Password attribute to
same password (both on IIS and SQL Machine)
3) SQL Server security is Sql Server and Windows

Hi, I recently wrote an ASP.Net web application in VS2005 and published
(using VS2005 Publish feature) it to a relatively clean machine with
ASP.Net 2.0 and MDAC 2.8 installed on it. However, when I try to create
my SQL connection in the code-behind, I get the following error. I
tried to register the DLL using regsvr32 but that errored out saying,
"dllregisterserver entry point was not found". Any ideas?

Hi,
i'm trying to set the serial port.(XP SP2, Visual Studio 2005). I use
the example code from MSDN "configuring a communications resource".
CreateFile pass through, however GetCommState return 0.With
GetLastError(), i get the error number 87, which means
"ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER The parameter is incorrect. "
I'm sure the serial port works, because i can use another program to
read/write through it.

I have an ASP.NET 2.0 application that uses Forms Authentication. The
startup page contains just a login control, and the site works well on an
IIS 6 web server. I am now setting the site up on the production web
server, which runs Windows 2008 Server and IIS 7. The login page comes up,
but when I try to log in, I get the error, "Login failed for user '(null)'.

Hello All,
I have a system. An instrument attched to 'com1' is wireless connected
to many sensors at different locations. The instrument can forward
the "commands" (from pyserial's write()) to those sensors. Based on
the "commands", the sensors keep sending corresponding data back to
the instrument which wraps up those data and put into "com1" . The

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
