Customizing the Visual Studio.NET Start Page

I would like to customize the start page ("Get Started")
that loads when Visual Studio .NET loads. The list is
rather unpredictable and not able to be sorted. I want to
modify to have a list of common projects I use, etc.

So if anyone knows where and how to modify those pages
please reply to this. thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

The source of page is stored in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
.NET\Common7\ID E\HTML\1033. You could go there to change the start page.
Please back up it before doing any revision.

Hope this helps.

HuangTM

The good news: Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes, you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++ compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter of running 'python setup.py build'. No longer waiting for someone else to build binaries and a...

Is it possible to customize how Visual Studio creates a new web application project? 1) I would like to create a certain directory each time a create another project. 2) I have a base class that I would like all my web forms to inherits from. I need Visual Studio to inherit from my page instead of System.Web.UI.Page when I create a new webform.

Hello all, I have VS 2005 and SQL 2005 installed on my machine. However the "Getting Started" area of the Start Page shows SQL information instead of Visual Studio information when I start up Visual Studio 2005. Is there any way to reset the link to VS related info? I have tried reinstalling, uninstalling and reinstalling and it appears the installer does not remove the link from the registry. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I recently upgraded to from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET 2005. In Visual Studio .NET 2003 when I would select 'Build' it would add a *.dll with the name of the Project to a /bin/ folder in the same directory as the source code. However, in Visual Studio .NET 2005 when I selected 'Publish Web Site' and selected a target location to place it in, it placed the following files in it: All *.aspx files All *.html files

Introduction This tutorial describes how to use Visual Studio to create a new C++ program, compile/run a program, resume work on an existing program and debug a program. It is aimed at the beginning CIS student who is struggling to get their programs working. I work in the computer lab at the college I'm attending and I see many students who don't know how to use the IDE for best results. Visual Studio automatically creates a number of...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
