I am working with an evaluation copy of SQL Server 2000 for the first
time; my DB experience lies with MS Access.
I have a simple table in SQL Server (tblCompany) that has a field
called "Ticker." When new company stock tickers (i.e., MSFT for
Microsoft) are entered into the field, I'd like them in all
caps--whether the user types msft, Msft, MsFt, etc. In Access, this
was easy--simply set the Format to ">" in table design view.

I've read several articles on the internet regarding the "Check Updates"
problem from within VS.NET IDE. I'm having the exact same problem as many
others where if I select "Check Updates", I get the following error message:
Visual Studio .NET 2003 setup encountered errors while attempting to

I am using an ASP to update some table contents on my HTML page by
calling the ASP page using hidden frames.
But the ASP script seem to get called even before the HTML FRAME is
loaded ie.(operlayout_preload.html). Is there a way to check in ASP
that it should start running only after the html is loaded completely

I don't know whats the problem, but after I added functions
to first verify, then relink linked tables if not found,
now I can't convert that database to MDE format.
I can split the database, but can't convert
part of the database with forms, reports, queries to MDE format.
Can somebody advice on this?

I am always checking if any of my JDBC has Database leaks with our Oracle 9i database.
Here is what I use in SQL Plus:
select username, program from v$session where username = 'myUserSchemaName';
If I dont close my connections the above query shows a program running called JDBC Thin Client. If I do alot of JDBC inserts and updates in my Web Application, the query will show many lines of JDBC Thin Client showing up.

I'm trying to programmatically restart my application after downloading
updates, but I can't get the Application.Restart command to work correctly.
It shuts down my program fine, but then doesn't start up again afterwards.
I read about Click Once in the MSDN but couldn't fathom if CO was supposed

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
