I'm trying to use the free command line C/C++ compiler for .NET and
when I try to debug a simple C program that uses printf(), I don't see
the output it produces. A console window does open when DBGCLR starts
the program, but nothing ever appears in it. The program contains
several printf() calls and I step through the program one line at a
time, so I believe this isn't a case of the console window closing too
quickly for me to see the...

When I load a csharp program into the MS DbgCLR.exe debugger and trace it everything is fine the first time.
Assume now, I change somewhere a code statement in the source file (outside the Debug-IDE) without re-compiling it.
DbgCLR.exe recognizes that something has changed in the source file and pops up a warning dialog asking if
the new source should be used. If I click "yes" and re-start the debugging process from the beginning...

I used
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/cpguide/html/cpconalteringsoapmessageusingsoapextensions.asp
as a template to create a very simple web method with soap extension.
The code like this:
public string HelloWorld()
{
return "Hello World.";

I would like to deploy DbgCLR.exe on a machine where a .net windows app will
be run. This is to debug the application by launching the debugger (in the
code System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch() is called to do this). How to
deploy this debugger without installing complete .Net Framework SDK? Please
let me know the steps needed to do this.
Thanks,
Shesh.

I'm having a problem with establishing breakpoints in DbgCLR Version 2.0.
I've set breakpoints for statements in Page_Init, and they were never
triggered
when I loaded the webpage. In the code window of the debugger,
I place my cursor over the breakpoint symbols in the left column,
and I get the message:
"The Breakpoint will not currently be hit.
No Symbols have been loaded for this document."

desktop pc on the laptop. Now everything compiles and runs ok, expect
when I run with the debug on I notice this line in amongst the various

Having a hard time with a UDF. Wonder if folk might care to take a look
and tell me what's up.
All of this kicked off from trying to build a set of C++ iostream
derived classes that can make
DB2's gimped BLOB API (sqludf_append() etc) look--to the extent that
this is possible--like
something C++ libraries can use to serialize stuff to (via
iostream::read(), iostream::write() and
what-not).

Hi,
As far as I can see DbgClr does not come with the .NET 3.5 SDK.
Is the one that ships with the .NET 2 SDk OK for use with 3.5 apps?
Thanks,
- Adam.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
