multiple installs of the same webservice?

I'd like to host two or more instances of my webservice on one machine.
When I try to install multiple copies my websetup (pretty much the
default walk through for a websetup) it doesn't allow the second
webservice to be installed. Is this just a limitation of the setup
program, or is there something more fundemental at work here? Seems
like a simple thing to do, but I haven't found what I'm looking for in
the doc ....

I've got two web services that use the same data types and that clients will have to consume. I read the msdn article on sharing types (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnservice/html/service07162002.asp) but I don't want clients to have to add two web references and then manually have to edit the proxy classes. After doing some searching I found that putting references to multiple web services in a .disco...

We are starting to setup some Web Services to provide our customers with a way to programatically interact with our application, and some of our customers have slightly different requirements in the structure, format, and representation of the results for common requests. Of course, we have to comply with their formats, but it seems to be a bit of overkill to have multiple implementation methods and/or data objects that represent the...

If you develop for others, you probably have multiple versions of Access installed so you can edit and create MDEs for clients in different versions. This works fine under Windows XP, even with Access 2007 installed. It does *not* work under Windows Vista Ultimate. After running Access 2007, when you open an earlier version of Access, no code works, because the references are fouled up. And Access 97 does not work at all. Access should...

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to install multiple instances of a Windows Service on a single machine using the deployment Setup Project. We have a Windows Service that's configurable through the app.config file so that the service can be configured to do different things when it's fired up. We have a number of different configurations that aren't compatible with each other and consequently need multiple instances of this service installed...

You learn something new every day: On my ubuntu, update-manager is supposed to use the python2.5 installed on /usr/bin. Well, I had subsequently installed a whole bunch of stuff in /usr/local (/usr/local/bin/python and /usr/local/lib/ python2.5 etc), which I have happily been using for development for a year. I had thought that the two pythons were completely independent. Well, I was wrong. When /usr/bin/python2.5 runs, *by default*,...

Hi All I have a need for an asp.net page to make a call to a server which it did not originate from when a button is clicked. A simple call to pass 2-3 params and return a result. I am happy to use an asynchronous model to do this. I control both servers. I have been looking at Ajax and PageMethods (Ajax.Net and Ajax Pro) and have even been looking at Calling a webservice from JS.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
