Howdy,
Is there a way to explicitly escape special characters (particularly &
(&) and ' (')) when writing a data set with the WriteXml
method?
I know this is supposed to happen automatically (according to MS), but
in my case, it doesn't. I'm pulling data from MS-SQL with c#, filling
data tables with SqlDataAdapter and a query, adding tables to a
DataSet, then WriteXml to a file.
Special characters aren't getting escaped. Yes, I've confirmed this by
viewing the text directly, not viewing the file through IE, which will
convert entities back to characters. SQLXML bitches about it if I
don't fix the files before trying to BulkLoad.
Any thoughts??

I have a dataset that has DBNull in certain columns, now when I write
out this one to XML, I only get the columns as elements that do have
data in it. However I do need also the empty colums as empty elements
in the XML. How to do that ?
I don't understand why there is no simple option to specify the output
format, or did I miss something ?

When I write out my typed dataset to an xml file on disk, I can not open it
in my browser, because my data contains characters like "ä","ë" and "é".

I have an application using an xml dataset to store app and user settings.
The problem I am having is related to writexml. I have a save button on my
application that updates the dataset and then using the writexml(...)
function saves the dataset to an xml file. I have noticed that the file does
not change everytime I click the save button. I get no errors but the
writexml function does not seem to be updating the xml file.

Hi,
I used XslCompiledTransform with the following Xsl file. The <xsl:text
disable-output-escaping="yes"does not work when using XslCompiledTransform
to do the trnasform (namely the output contain < not <), while it works when
using MSXML2 to do the transform. Does anyone have the same problem and how
to make the escape work? Thanks.

optparse seems to be escaping control characters that I pass as
arguments on the command line. Is this a bug? Am I missing

This behaviour doesn't occur with non-control characters.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
