Hi All,
I have the following code but for some reason I cannot get the Session_OnEnd
event to fire.
I am trying to limit the amount of connections a browser session can have.
Where the application is a virtual directory.
Any ideas?

When I wrote websites in VB .NET, I would often put functions in Global
for all the pages to call. Now, in C#, doing so results in "references
to non-static objects" and whatnot. I realize what that means and all,
but what I'm wondering is what's the best way around it? Say, for
example, I want a function that takes a username and a password and
returns true or false if it's a successful login, and I want any page or
usercontrol in the...

I have an example I copied from "programming asp.net" (o'reilly) and can't
seem to get the Sub (writefile) to execute. It displays all the
response.write lines that are called directly, but not any of the
response.write lines from inside the sub.

I've got a problem with an app I've been working on, the Caching object and
events not firing correctly. In a nutshell: When I'm debugging, and I set a
breakpoint in the removed item call back, the code works correctly. If there
is no debugger it doesn't fire, which causes the app to have problems.
Here's what the code does: The TemplateData class inherits from the DataSet
Object, in the constructor it loads itself with Data from an XML...

Hi Gang,
Let me start by saying I'm using Visual Web Developer 2005 and ASP.net
2.0. Is there something I have to do to get my Global.asax fire when
my application loads. If I set a breakpoint nothing happens also I can
tell that it's not updating my database. I'm storing the users's
session ID in the database to prevent multiple logins. However, when
their session expires it's not clearning their record. Are there
prohibitive...

This is a strange problem. I have a project where the contents of
global.asax application_error are not firing. It is an asp.net 2.0
application using web application projects. I have another app using
web application projects and it's firing fine but it was upgraded from
the 1.1 framework.
Why doesn't my global.asax application_error routine fire?

I notice that the global.asax in v2 is inline. because of this I can't say
Session = conn;
The compiler will accept it but at runtime the exception says "Session State
is not available in this context".
Is this a downgrade feature from 1.1?

Hi there, I have an asp.net 2 web application with SQL Server 2005 db,
running on IIS6. I have implemented some error trapping in the
global.asax file, along the lines of:
void Application_Error(Object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Exception ex = Server.GetLastError();
//write details about the exception to a table in the db etc etc

Hello all!
I added a Global.asax to my application. I'm using the
Application_BeginRequest event. Everything works fine in my development
enviorment but when I publish the web site the Global.asax file doesn't get
published. If I manually copy it the event doesn't seem to get called.
Any idea what's going on here?
Thanks,

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
