I am just beginning programming again and need a bit of advice.
I have both Visual C++ 6.0 Standard Edition and Borland C++ Builder 6.
Of these two which do you consider the best for programming windows programs
(not the DOS style program). I have had a quick look at both of these and
Borland seems to have a lot more components (Buttons, Forms etc) than
Microsoft Visual C++. Does Visual C++ have these components easily
accesable.

Hi All,
I am a veteran C/C++ programmer (Unix background) and I want to get to
speed with Visual Studio .Net
I have legacy C/C++ code that I want to use in my application. However,
I'm not sure how to call my native C++ functions from my C++ DLLs. The
confusion is this: I currently have Visual Studio 2003 it is not clear
whether I should use managed extensions or C++/Interop?

Hi to all,
i am not sure if this question really belongs here but anyway, here it
goes: I have seen a lot of IDEs for Python, a lot of good stuff but
actually none of them has what, for example, Visual Studio has: a
Visual Editor (with the ability to place controls on forms etc etc),
or RAD
I know that there is Glade but does anybody knows of some product, or
an ongoing effort to this direction so i can have a look at ?

Ive been playing with these over the last few hours and Im quite impressed
how useful they are.
However, I was using the query builder to set up a new query for my adapter
and found there was no grouping button like you get in SQL Enterprise
Manager query builder.
Until . . .

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
