About .net 2003 and Visual Studio 2005

Hi All,

I have not yet seen Visual Studio 2005 and I could not collect much
information on this.

I just want to know whether Visual Stdio 2005 is enhanced Visual Studio
..net 2003 or is it Enhanced Visual Studio with Visual Basic 6.0. Is it
..net or the traditional Visual Basic 6.0 + with added features.

Thanks.

Ravi

VS.NET 2005 is the IDE for .NET 2.0
VS.NET 2003 is the IDE for .NET 1.1

VS 6 is the IDE for VB6

At a recent MSDN conference, one of the presenters vehemently said that VS.NET 2003 (because of its web project) is only good for _single_ developers. He said that if you're working in a team environment (i.e. more than one developer), VS.NET 2005 is the way to go. We are currently developing on classic ASP and want to move to ASP.NET soon. But hearing that comment, our team of 5-10 developers might want to wait for the release of...

Hi, I had Visual Studio 2003 installed, and installed also visual Studio 2005 Beta 2. The problem is, when I am starting now (double click) a solution (*.sln-file), it always start it with Visual Studio 2005, and not 2003. I'm trying to change it in the registry, or jsut simply with an "open with" and the "always use this program to open"-option checked, but it doesn't work. Simply changing it in the "file types" in the explorer doesn't...

Ok I have searched the MS website for info on this. I am totally confused. If I want to deploy an Access 2003 app and allow my users to run it using Access 2003 Runtime, where do I get the Runtime? I just purchased Office 2003 Professional. Is Access 2003 Runtime included with that or not? It APPEARS that the only way I can get Access 2003 Runtime is to

We have some 1.1 sites developed in dreamweaver and we will be developing all new sites for the 2.0 framework when it's out of beta. We just purchased an ms subscription and will be using visual studio for development now. I like whidbey a lot more than vs.net 2003... can I skip learning 2003 and just use Whidbey to maintain our 1.1 sites? There are no project or solution files to convert since we developed everything in dreamweaver...

Hi there, I am a MS Access VBA programmer trying to get my feet wet using VB.net / SQL server. I have SLQ 2000/visual studio 2003 loaded and did get a SQL2005/visual studio 2005 software through the MS launch. I am now wondering how to setup my laptop so I can use theh two sets together (not at the same time of course). I have also been told there might be issues of interaction between framework

Hey IDE: VS .NET 2005 #1 I want to start developing web parts in visual studio 2005 and are wondering where is the latest version of the web part templates. I did find this download (the link below), but the file is from 2004 and I don't think the file is meant to be used in visual studio 2005.... (2 years old) There must be something newer I must download and install instead... I'm not sure what

I recently upgraded from Visual Studio .NET 2003 to Visual Studio .NET 2005. I have several projects that I created in Visual Studio .NET 2003, but when I try to open them in Visual Studio .NET 2005 it tries to force me to convert them. for some of these it would be fine, but some of them run on servers that do not support .NET 2.0 yet, I simply want to edit the code remotely but not convert anything. How can I prevent Visual Studio .NET...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
