How do you get the Soap Envelope from inside a ASMX Web Service

Folks,

I have a ASMX Web Service (.Net 2.0) and I'm NOT using WSE. I would like to
retrieve the incoming SOAP envelope body (raw XML) inside one of my web
method calls but I'm not sure how to do this. I need this information for
auditing/tracking purposes. I would appreciate any suggestions, code samples
or links.

Thank you in advance,

ms-help://MS.MSDNQTR.v80. en/MS.MSDN.v80/MS.WinFX4VS.103 3/cpref26/html/T_System_Web_Se rvices_Protocol s_SoapExtension .htm

Look for "SoapExtens ion" in the msdn docs, "About SoapExtension" has a
sample for a TraceExtension which writes the SoapMessage to a log file.

If you use that sample as a guide, be sure to apply the
TraceExtensionA ttribute to the appropriate service methods in your service
class.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to build a program to interface to a SOAP/XML interface provided by one of our vendors. This interface is built with MS SOAP Toolkit 3.0, so I'm guessig they are running a .NET server. I'm trying to build my program with Python as I've got to deploy on both Linux and Sun/Solaris platforms. I'm developing on RedHat Linux 8.0 using Python 2.2.1 and SOAPpy 0.10.2. My experimental program almost works, but it isn't...

I have a question regarding SOAP. A basic "Hello World" web service was written then requested from an IIS server via TELNET. When a malformed request was sent, a SOAP exception was returned, just as I would expect: What was sent: POST /helloworld/helloworld.asmx?op=HelloWorld HTTP/1.0 What was received:

I have attempted to mark up a service and it's methods so that it doesn't require the SOAPAction HTTP header to resolve the methods being called, this is done from first element in <SOAP-ENV:Body> and the request and responses are not suffixed with Request and Response. Is there some more I could do with the attributes on the class that defines the WS and on the methods. the code for the WS etc is below. This I can get to work POST...

I have a vb.net web service and client that are both working fine. If someone wanted to consume our web service using .NET, no problem. Im a little confused on how non .NET clients would use the web service though. Question 1: Does Java etc have some kind of SOAP tool kit developers could use to access our web service? Question 2: .NET conveniently shows what the serialized xml looks like and what the web service expects (Please see...

Ok, simple question: from a VB.Net web service (as I've said before, I'm a newbie to SOAP), how would I get the SOAP body into a string? My boss and I concur that it, at least from our perspective, should be as simple as defining an object and viewing a parameter on that object. My boss has worked with it and I'm still tryin'... Hi! We are trying to realize message-based security with WCF June CTP. We get the messages encrypted but not signed (see SOAP-message below)! We also tried the "Message Security Sample" from the June CTP documentation and got similar results. There was never a <Signatureelement in the SOAP header of a message... What are we doing wrong? We also attached our web.config (Service), app.config (Client) and the client code... We appreciate...

Is it possible to configure a .NET 2.0 ASMX Web service to accept namespace qualified messages? Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
