I thought I heard that v2 would allow a WebService to return a DataTable

I thought I heard that v2 would allow a WebService to return a DataTable.
I've tried this but it doesn't seem to work, the WebService compiles but I
can't hook a client up to the method, so I have resorted back to creating a
DataSet just to transport a stupid DataTable which seems like such a waste
of code, execution time, and network bandwidth.

Am I missing something???

Thanks,
Tony

Hello group, I'm trying to develop a proof of concept webservice which asynchronously calls a function in a DLL. The function raises an event when it is finished, and works when used as part of a windows form. When I try to hook up the webservice to the event and call the WS, the CPU goes to 100% and I have to restart the WWW service. Does anyone have an idea as to how this can be done ... and if not, directions to a tall bridge would...

I have a webservice that I wanted to return an ArrayList..Well the service compiles and runs when I have the output defined as ArrayList, but the WSDL defines the output as an Object so I was having a problem in the calling program. I searched online and found suggestions that I return an Array instead so I modified my code (below) to return an Array instead of an ArrayList. Now I get the message when I try to run just my webservice...

I have a custom object that I have written which is serializable. I have put this object in it's own dll which is referenced by both the WebService and the Application using it. My problem is the WebService Proxy creates it's own implementation of my CustomObject which is causing issues. Is there some way to mark my object to use it's own namespace instead of using the namespace of the object being recreated by the WebService Proxy? ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
