Question on VSTS licensing

I don't see a seperate newsgroup for this, so I am going to post my question
here.

I understand that Microsoft's new VSTS is being RTM'd and should be
available for downloading sometime today. I am a little confused about
licensing. The server licensing is $2,799, which seems reasonable. However,
I was under the impression that MSDN Universal subscribers would get a
license of their choice and only pay a premium if they buy Team Suite.

Is that still the case?

Does anyone know of a framework or library that will enable me to use publish/subscribe comms? I want to create a server (using Python) running on a Unix box that will accept client connections (from GUIs built with wxPython) and publish realtime data updates to them. Any advice on where to start? Thanks. A.B.

It's time that I upgraded my DB2 (LUW) from 7.2 to 8.2 but I really need to clear up one question about licensing and updates first. Back when V5.0 of DB2 (LUW) came out, I bought a shrink-wrapped copy of Personal Edition from a retailer and paid the full $500+ for it. When V6.0 came out, I was delighted to find that Personal Edition was a free download. Initially, I was afraid that it would turn out to be free only for the try-and-buy...

Hi I want to "license" a control so that it can only be used in the context of my application. I looked into going down the route of using the attribute, and then to compile a license file using lc.exe and embed the resulting into my application. Sounded good, until I couldn't get lc.exe to work with any combination of options (not that there are many). Everything I could think of in the documentation at...

Hi, I am trying to figure out best testing tool for my project. I have narrowed down my requirements to two tools NUNIT and VSTS unit. But I have used neither and I have to use only one of them. Hence can someone who has used them before share his/her experience on them so that I can get a better idea and make a proper choice ? Any link or suggestions are also welcome. Thanks and Regards, Parag

Hi all. Please forgive me for the off topic and cross post but I need some feed back on the Team system. I am aware it is version 1 and with that in mind I'm hesitant but the system sounds like it is a good idea if it really works. Regards, Robert

We have a very large enterprise type of application developed in VB.NET, SQL Server, RS 2005, using win forms and web forms. We are a major international company with 200+ divisions around the world. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
