Hello everyone,
I would like to know what you typically use to add a
search engine to your sites. Do you build your own
search engines, do you use existing PHP classes,
do you use htdig, etc. ?
My preference would be to use htdig, but on the htdig
site there's only a small list of hosting providers
that provide this and google doesn't...

Sorry if I post here, but I don't have access to any valuable mysql ng for
this question, ans since 99% or php programmers deal with mysql, I'm sure
I'll get an answer here.

CREATE TABLE searchlog (
IDSearchLog MEDIUMINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL auto_increment,

Q: Is PHP search engine friendly?
Q: Will search engine spiders crawl my PHP pages?
A:
Spiders should crawl anything provided they're accessible. Since,
nowadays most of the websites are been developed with PHP, you are not
supposed to doubt that.
As a proof that PHP pages could be crawled and indexed, refer this

I have designed a site for a client, but they have hired an internet
marketing person to incrase their search engine ranking and traffic.
He wants to put extra-large fonts on every page which will make the
design looks a bit rediculous. He also said that the big text cannot
be hidden. I am just trying to find a compromise. Here are the...

Simple question... which is better to use for defining font sizes and why?
px and em seem to be the leading candidates. I know what the general answer
is going to be, but I'm hoping to ultimately get some good real world
examples.
Fire away! :)

Hi
can anyone tell me what's the best way to search in binary content? Best if someone could post or link me to some source code (in C/C++).
The search should be as fast as possible and it would be great if the engine (or so) would accept multiple parameters (like a search offset, a max number of bytes to search in etc.)
Any ideas
Thanks...

Hi,
I have not implimented a search feature yet for a web site yet and wanted to
get some advice. Most of the search tips I have seen so far only deal with
searching html files or other web files. I don't need this type of search.
All I need to do is search the products tables (description and Name fields)
and return the results. Now, I could...

I have a small, embedded app that uses a webserver to serve up pages
showing status, etc.
Right now all the pages are hard-coded in English. We need to provide
multi-lingual support.
All of the pages are PHP generated. Ideally, I'd like for the PHP
backend to serve up the language based a) the user's locale, and if that
is not set, its...

Hi,
I have a C# web app that searches my database table using the
following search parameters
Search string, criteria (< =) and the field you want to perform your
search on. My understanding is that stored procedure is the way to go.
What's the best way of doing this using stored procedures. Can I
define a placeholder for the field name?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
