Treeview - Recursive Search

Hi,
I am doing a recursive search of my treeview. All I am doing is iterating
through the nodes and checking if my tag = my id. It seems to works, finds
the ID, selects it and exits. However, it seem to add new nodes to my
TreeView (it pretty much adds the entire tree). I saw someone had a
similar problem in another newsgroup, however he had no explanation.
Any help would be great.

'Initial Call
Iterate_Aux(tre eEvents.Nodes(0 ), rdr("parent_id" ))
'Recursive Search
Public Sub Iterate_Aux(ByR ef theNode As TreeNode, ByVal id As String)
For Each theChildNode As TreeNode In theNode.Nodes
If theChildNode.Ta g = id Then
treeEvents.Sele ctedNode = theChildNode
Exit Sub
End If
Iterate_Aux(the ChildNode, id)
Next
End Sub

I'm extending TreeView to build a file/directory chooser like the one in NTBACKUP. I've implemented four-state checkboxes; no problem. And I know how to explore files and directories and populate the tree (including populating branches on demand, when the user first expands them, rather than trying to search the entire computer at the beginning). What I'm stuck on is re-entrancy, or multiple paths to the same location.

Hi I'm trying to do a text search on a TreeView control. So far I've been able to find the matching items and add them to another treeView but I want to be able to add its whole path to the other treeView and not just the matching node. Any ideas on how to do this?

In a previous version of vb I used to save and load hierarchical data from an Access db into a treeview. But, I never found a very satisfying or elegant way to do it. I used a flat file approach with each item having a reference to its parent node. I would then start by loading the top level nodes folowed by loading child node data only as their parent node was expanded. This method worked fairly well except that allowing the user to...

I am trying to create a TreeView control that works with an ADO Dataset DataTable or the new BindingSource stuff in .NET 2.0 to build a Treeview that is populated. This is what I came up with so far... I can't run it yet because I don't have the DataTable source... I still want to get some sort of assessment as to whether I am heading in the right direction. Here is the code: ================================ using System;

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
