Print at Server using Web Services

Is it possible to print on the server using Web Services? I have a CE app
that reads and writes to the database using Web Service. I would like to
print a Summary of each transaction after it is done. Since I cannot print
from the CE device, I would like to print it on the Server by passing the
transaction number to the Web Service. I would preferably like to use a
Crystal report since formating will be easier but any other way would help as
well. Is this possible?

Hello,

I havent done it my self but I believe its do-able. You can use crystal
reports if you want to. You will have to create an instance of report (class
associated with rpt file) and then you will have to assign data source to the
report class (based on the parameters / state that you have pass from your CE
environment). Then you can call print method on report class (by either
specifying printer or using default one).

I hope it helps.

cheers!

I am doing something like this. I made a class library that handles the
printing and simply call this on a new thread from the web service. Right
now my problem is that it is creating the document but it is hanging at the
printer, all it does is just sit there spooling.

Hi, I am working in Mac OSX 10.3.7 with SDK 1.4_2. When my Print Dialog box comes up just about everything is disabled except selecting from the 4 printers I have and being able to set the page margins. The dialog has 3 panes. The first pane, 'General', I can select my printer but the property button for the printer is disabled along with the page range settings and number of copies. The second pane, 'Page Setup', the only thing I can do...

Every 10 seconds I need to search a SQL table for orders to print. The orders are created through WebForms on ASP.NET clients. The orders should not print until 10 minutes before they are due. The network printer will be available from the server running IIS and SQL Server 2000. If this were a Windows Forms application, then I would create a system timer in Form1.Load(). How is this done in an ASP.NET application?

I have a vb.net 2005 application and am using the print preview screen. This screen has a printer icon on it that the user can use to print the document currently being viewed. It uses the default printer settings to print. I wanted the print preview to appear the same for all users (i.e. a default page size of 8.5x14 (legal) and portrait mode). Many users have different printers as their default (plotters etc..) and I found that various...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
