Stored Procedure Columns not returned in designer

I have a stored procedure that I want to add to my data set. I've followed
the procedures to do this - open server connection, go to stored procedure
tab and drag procedure onto design form. The procedure is then shown, but no
column information is retrieved.

For regular stored procedures that just have a select to return a collection
of rows, it ok. But my procedure sets up and executes an openquery to a
linked server. My previous programming tool (Delphi) retrieved the column
info as if they were a table, but VB .Net 2005 does not.

Is there a way to get the column information into the table data adapter at
design time?

Thanks..

I am trying to determine the number of columns that are returned from a stored procedure using TSQL. I have a situation where users will be creating their own procedures of which I need to call and place those results in a temp table. I will not be able to modify those users procedures. I figure if I have the number of columns I can dynamically create a temp table with the same number of columns, at which point I can then perform an INSERT...

Hi everyone, I have a stored procedure which I use to query a table. The first part of the stored procedure uses a cursor to update a temp table whilst the second part of the query actually retrieves information from a database table utilising information based on the temp table. My problem is that when I run the procedure, the cursors status is output and therefore becomes part of the result set. I really only want the information...

Hi All, Despite spending the past six to seven hours perusing the docs on the mySQl site, I still have questions unanswered, and have been unable to get any help. I am familiar with Sybase, some Oracle and PostgreSQL - but the mySQL SQL seems a bit "non-standard". I would be very grateful for any help I get in answering these questions: Stored procedures

I am having a problem with creating a stored procedure. The premise underwhich we are operating is the following: We are working with two tables. The first table simply stores an integer value representing the last used value. The second table lists ranges of integers which have already been allocated in a legacy system. This table has two columns representing the various starting and ending values for these ranges. We wish to retrieve...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
