VB 2005 not logging or executing shell commands at boot time.

My application starts logging and executes shell commands on startup. The
application runs fine, except when it executes at boot time. In other words
when I make it a "startup" application on my Windows XP box, it does
everything except logging and shell commands. If I execute the application
after Windows XP boots up, then it runs just fine. It seems as if the app is
not getting its inherited functionality at boot time. Any help is appreciated.

Here is the code used:

Shell("regedit /s lockiez1.reg", AppWinStyle.Hid e) 'Member of:
Microsoft.Visua lBasic.Interact ion

Dim file As TextWriter = New StreamWriter("m yapp.log", True) 'Member of:
System.IO
file.WriteLine( logMsg & Now)
file.Close()

I wrote a PHP shell script under Linux which puts all existing PS-Files within a directory into a list and should then start a single Ghostview window for each file. Sounds simple, but it's not: The following code provides for about half of the functionality I wanted: ==============code starts $bla = array(); foreach ($filelist as $file)

Hi, I'm using the logging module for the first time. I'm using it from within Zope Extensions. My problem is that, for every event logged, the logger is producing multiple identical entries with the timestamp the same down to the millisecond. Is this something I'm doing wrong?

I am in the process of learning python so I am writing a text adventure game using functions and global variables only. I know there is a better way to do this but that is for later. When I run the python program it works fine until I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
