sending mouse events to other applications' windows in .net/c#

Hi All,

I am trying to figure out if it is possible to send mouse events (or
any other windows events) to windows that don't belong to the
current application. I am trying to do this in C# using Visual Studio
2005.

In simple words, I want to write an application that sends simulates
mouse clicks inside the window of some other application.

Thanks,
Petar

Hello everyone, I am using MS .NET Framework 1.0 Version 1.0.3705 developing a C# client application using SQL Server on the server side. I am looking to implement drag & drop in a TreeView control. The operation takes place entirely within this single control. There is no need to provide for interaction with other controls, forms, applications etc. Both the drag source item (a TreeNode) and the drag target item (another TreeNode) are...

I have created a form designer type application (with a lot of you peoples helpJ). It has label controls that are draggable at runtime. The user is also allowed to change some properties such as forecolor, backcolor and font. The labels also are rotatable and the text can also be flipped 180 degrees (the flipped text part is still being worked on). I have one context menu for all 30 labels that allows for the property changes to the labels....

Hey guys, I have 2 events on a windows forms datagrid, the mouse move as well as the double click events. What's happening is that when I double click on a row in the grid, the mouse move event gets triggered and the double click is not identified at all. Is there any way I can invoke the double click when the mouse move also exists?

Hello, I have a Windows Pyhon-Tk app which need to capture mouse end keyboard events even when the app is not in focus. On Windows so far I've used the excellent PyHook which does the job perfectly: " The pyHook library wraps the low-level mouse and keyboard hooks in the Windows Hooking API for use in Python applications."

Hi, I'm trying to redirect click events from a panel in my application to another applications window such that i 'click' the menu of the other application. I (naively) thought i could just redirect the messages from WndProc to the other application's window handle. This didn't work, so i am sending the messages to the child windows (depending on their position), with some success), but cannot interact with the menu. I have tried the...

Is it possible to simulate a mouse click in the window I made (it's a Form), but not give it focus? I tried using WinAPI's mouseevent and SendMessage of WM_LBUTTONDOWN/WM_LBUTTONUP as suggested by the folks in #winapi on EFnet, but I think those require the window to have focus. Either that, or I'm doing something else wrong. The click actually seems to work once, and then stops working... I have no idea what is the problem actually....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
