Confusion: VB Express/VC Express/Sql Server Express Edition

Hello

Can any one tell me that if I buy Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional
for dotnet, do I get following product
Visual Basic Express
Visual C# Express
Sql Server Express
Web Devlopment Express Edition

I know these tools are availabe for free download from microsoft.

What is the difference between express products and MS Visual Studio 2005
Professional version? I heard so many things on these express proructs,
eager to work on them, If I dont buy MS VS 2005 pro, is there any licensing
involved in these express edition for an ndividual?

Please respod asap, so I can take the decesion.

Try :
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/pr...e/default.aspx

Basically Express is a simplified version of Professional and is available
free for one year (expect SQL Server Express that will remain free).

Hi,

The express editions are stripped down versions of vs 2005 pro. You
will have addition project types and added features in the ide.

Hi,

The expresses versions are stripped down versions of the Professional
edition, you will not be able to develop certain types of apps ( like for
pocketPCs )
also they have a licensing for a certain time, after that it depends of MS
if they are extended or not.

Does VWD Express Edition support the idea of Solutions? I coun't figure out how to create a blank solution which I usually do with VS2005 (and then add my web site to the solution.)

I installed SQL Server 2008 Express, basic edition (SQLEXPR32_x86_ENU_Bootstrapper.exe, version 9.0.30729.1) without any problem. Then I attempted to install AdventureWorks Sample Databases for SQL Server 2008 (SQL2008.AdventureWorks_All_Databases.x86.msi). This attempt failed because SQL Server 2008 Express, basic edition doesn’t support Full-text Search, which AdventureWorks requires. So I uninstalled SQL Server 2008 Express, basic...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
