If there is a more appropriate group to post this in please comment. Given
the lack of comments I feel I may not be looking in the correct groups.
With the MTOM spec becoming "Offical" then end of January, most now
recognize it as the way forward and are stating DIME/SwA as no longer valid.
However I find no implementations for TODAY. This leaves me in an
uncomfortable position on what to recommend for an immediate implementation

I recently upgraded a web service to WSE3, specifically to use MTOM in a
particular call. This worked, however something else unrelated went "snap"
in the process...
After much head-scratching, I identified it as a public byte property that

When I am implementing MTOM in my web service using WSE 3.0.
<s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="buffer"
type="s:base64Binary" />
The wsdl generated still refers to my buffer as base64Binary ? I thought by
using MTOM the attachment is left as binary ? so why then does the wsdl
generated by ASMX still refer to base64Binary ?

Hi guys,
I'd like to send a binary file to a web service using MTOM. Is it possible
to encrypt the byte ? is it something I need to specify before I send it
out ? or do I need to somehow configure MTOM to do it ?
Also could comeone clarify. I think MTOM implements security signature
already without the need to explicitly specify it. I think ?

I'm working on a research and development project involving binary XML.
I've been reading lots about the new MTOM and XOP recommendations put
out by W3. I'm interested in trying to find a toolset that we could
evaluate as part of this effort, so I thought I'd check and see if
anyone has used or is otherwise familiar with such packages.
What we need at this stage is:
1. Open source. We just want to do concept work at this point.

I've been looking at both MTOM and simple HTTP POST or PUT for file uploads.
Some relevant details:
... We want to support programmatic file uploads from Winform apps.

As far as I understand, the WSE 3.0 provides some optimization of
MTOM usage. I.e. even if MTOM is specified,
but the size of data is less than 768 bytes, they are sent inline
instead of being referenced to XOP_INCLUDE.
For example, instead of
<data><Include<href=... /</Include></data>.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
