Error creating Web Service framework from WSDL

When using wsdl.exe to try and create a framework class, I get an error
"Error: URI formats are not supported"

I've tried specifying the location to load the file as both local and
URL paths. I even tried placing my wsdl file in the folder with
wsdl.exe and loading it from there. In all cases I get the same error.
Any help figuring this out would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Doug

I have a Web Service in which I am trying to pass an XMLDocument as a parameter to one of the methods. I would like to use the XMLTextReader to read the XML but I am getting the following error: Value of type System.xml.xmldocument cannot be converted to System.IO.textreader. I would think this is possible to do. Code snippet is below:

I have run into a problem when trying to import a WSDL reference under VS 2003 and 1.1 of the framework. It appears as if it is in the generation of the proxy that things are failing. When I add the reference, I get the following error: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\WebServices\samples\WSDL\dotnet\OblixSampleForDotNetWSDL\Web References\localhost\Reference.map(1): Custom tool error: Unable to import WebService/Schema. I take the WSDL-file and create a VS.NET WinForm application and calls the service running on my PC and everything works fine. So I deploy the webservice on a remote machine (Linux box) and I get an error when calling the service. BUT: I can retrieve the WSDL and make a webreference in my VS.NET project, so obviously I (or more correct: My VS.NET project) am...

Hi, I hope someone could help me. I have a simple web service that I developed on my laptop that resides within a large web application. It queries Northwind & presents the data in a grid in the asp.net client page that called it. I moved the whole app to a test server, & when I try to run it, I get the error "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it". It looks like the wsdl still points to my laptop...

Hi, We were using .Net Framework 1.1 version of wsdl utility to generate proxy classes for our ASP.Net 1.1 version. But now if I try to create proxy classes for .Net Framework 2.0 version the classes are created but when I try to consume the web service some extra events are being added which is creating problems. What could be the problem. Let me know if you need any further information.

I've writtin a very simple web service in axis which returns an array of classes. I consume it in a .net app. When receiving the response, my .net app generates an error "Cannot assign object of type System.Object to an object of type PersonWS.WorkGroupData.". I've included the wsdl of the consumed axis web service, the request/responses of the web service by the .net app and the exception and stack trace. Hoping someone can tell me...

Hi I understand, that the "normal way" in creating Web Services is: Creating Web Service -- WSDL -- Creating Client Unfortunately, I have to create a Web Service (Service, not Clinet) from an existing WSDL. Can somebody tell me, what's the right way to do this?

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
