hi all,
I wonder if its possible in Apache authentication scheme, to have a
special user that will be authenticated without password in interanl
network, while other users still have to follow the regular policy.
I've tried to use "satisfy any/all" in .htaccess file.
AuthName "Me Only"
AuthType Basic

I am looking to implement impersonation in an ASP application I am writing
and am using the MS article Q306158 as a reference. This article refers to
"the IIS Authenticated Account or User". Can anyone tell me where I can find
out more about this account?
- the permissions it has
- what group if any it belongs to
- the user name of the account
- etc.
Cheers,

The 2nd parameter of the
method controls whether a persistent cookie is created - so that
ASP.NET can "know" if the current user has been previously authenticated
(during previous browser sessions).
My question: How can code I write elsewhere in the application retrieve that
cookie - or otherwise "know" if the current user has been authenticated? My
intent is to have some pages in the application that do not require
authentication in...

Greetings:
I am developing an application that uses an ASP.NET Web Forms
application for its UI and ASP.NET web services for its business tier, and I
am looking for assistance in improving my application security. I want to use
declarative security on my web methods so I can secure them more easily. In
short, I want to secure the web services using the first code snippet below.
Please note that the web method has a custom SOAP header....

Hi,
I've come from Forms to web pages. (OH DEAR you say) I'm using VS2003.
When I drag a table from Server explorer onto the web form to create a
DataAdapter & Connection, all ok, but when I try to access that data
programmatically, I get:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'mycomputer\ASPNET'.

I am writing a new application which uses Forms Authentication, and has been
seperated into layers (UI, Logic, Data Access). Right now all the layers are
self contained in my application...which may be broken out at a later date.
Also these layers have a seperate namespace as well such as
BusinessLogicLayer, DataAccessLayer, etc... On my methods within the
Business Logic and Data Access, I am wanting to use the Principal Permission...

I have an HTML page with included JS file like:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="file.js"></
script>
The file.js has a set of functions and global initializer for some
html object. Hoever, I want to hide my html object with display:block
CSS property. As a result, object in JS file fails to be initialized
for a hidden object. I decided to call JS file when needed (i.e. when
HTML object becomes visible on page)...

Hi
On a machine called 'machineName', a user called userName is a
member of the ora_dba group. I can see this in computer management.
Why then does the below throw an exception?
AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetPrincipalPolicy(PrincipalPolicy.WindowsPrincipal);
PrincipalPermission p = new PrincipalPermission("\\machineName
\userName", @"machineName\ora_dba", true);

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
