I haven't been able to figure this out and would
appreciate some help...
I have two tables, both with autonumber primary
keys, and linked in a conventional master-child
relationship. I've created forms for both those
tables, and inserted the child table form into the
master table form as a subform. It works just as
it is supposed to, in that I can create a new master
record, and then add detail records.

Hello,
How do I open a child form (with a dataGridView) from a parent form. I
want the child form to be opened with the related table from the
selected row in the dataGridView.
The dataGridViews are populated with a tableAdapter. The relationship
is based on a primary key.
Thank you,

Hello,
I want to open a child form based on the record selected in a
dataGridView of the parent form.
I want the child form to open with a populated child table based on the
selected parent record.
How do I get the ID of the selected record in the parent form's
dataGridView so I can use it in filling the child form's dataGridView?

I have noticed that as one adds related tables to a bindingsource and
dataset(vs2005 Vb.Net Sql Server 2005), the TODO and following code that
fills the datasets on form load are written to the formload event in the
order in which you drag the tables to the form to make a gridview, the last
table you drag is written to the top. Since you normallly start by dragging
the parent table and then the child tables and grandchild tables, what...

The How to page:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/7aw8zc76(VS.80).aspx
walks through the creation of MDI child forms.
It includes instructions to set the property MdiList to maintain a list of
open MDI child windows.
However, I can't find the MdiList property in the properties panel.

I hope someone can help...I feel like I'm walking in the dark without a
flashlight (I'm NOT a programmer but have been called to task to do
some work in Access that is above my head).
I have code that will successfully copy a record and append the
information to a new record in the same table (parent table) within a
form. However, there are related child tables with primary keys (set
to Autonumber) stored in sub-forms. That information...

I have a simple form with 4 fields, and a subform that retrieves records that are potential matches based on a query.
The user will use the ID from the subform record and enter it into one of the fields on the main form (this is how the match will be stored).
Is there a way using a button/macro to populate the parent form's field with the ID of the subform record that is currently selected?
For example, the subform loads 7 records. The...

I have a question concerning the need to trigger events within a "child" subform which is itself enbedded within a master "parent" form and which is accessible via a tab in the parent form. Becuase this is all very difficult to explain in words, please bear with me as I endevour to explain what it is I am trying to do. It would be helpful if I could attach a graphics file to this posting that would help explain what it is I'm trying to achieve...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
