I have no idea where to start on this. We have a need to allow our users to
enter Credit Card #'s on a web page, so we need a secure page (have the
little lock at the bottom of the browser) in order to do this.
1) What is this called? (I've heard the term SSL (Secure Socket Layer)
tossed around, I don't know if this is the same or something...

Just when I say web services may be hyped, here comes a news report
that says Swedish Referendum Results will be delivered in real time
over the internet using Java web services.
In one sense, exposing the real-time results as a web service is sorta
cool, since other apps can tie in to it and distribute the info to
multiple targets. n the...

Hello Group,
I am running an operation in a different thread. There are resources that
are released when the thread is done running. This is done at the end of the
execution as it raises an event, and then the operation handling this event
calls threaded object's dispose method.
The problem is: If an exception is thrown the event is never...

Hi,
I've been tasked with doing a study of how to migrate our current
excel VBA macros (that currently dig in a very insecure and
uncontroled way in various corporate databases) to a setup were
everything is arbitrated by Weblogic web services (with EAI-provided
web services looming on the horizon)
The Office version currently deployed...

If I have an application that I send out to users, and the application
interacts with the database (behind the scenes, no direct sql creation by the
users)....do webservices make the app more secure? I always thought of
webservices as just a good way to allow users to have an API for them to
interact with the database, but are webservices...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
