Is it possible to reference the dataset of a sqldatasource from code? I've looked at the properties for the sqldatasource but don't see anything obvious. In particular, I have a bit field in the dataset that identifies if the user is permitted to make changes to the record. I have what I term "system defined items" for lookup purposes and these can never be changed even by the administrator. I would normally display a bit field as a...

When you use a SqlDataSource to hook up data to a GridView it seems to be to be very inflexible. For example, I want to create my own Delete button with my own code and I also want to create a popup warning for the user before delete takes place. Whenever I do this with a SqlDataSource, I get the error 'Deleting is not supported by data source 'SqlDataSource1' unless DeleteCommand is specified.' Which means I have to specify a sproc or...

I'm using SQLDataSource, which generates some kind of dataset, and then I attach that datasource to various data display controls such as DataList and repeater which loop through to the end of the data that was retrieved by the query. At times I may want the display control only to render some items in the set of data returned by SqlDataSource. There would be several scenarios: * render the second data item or third item in to the end...

I have a SqlDataSource that returns a list of companies and their details by ProductID from a stored procedure. It also returns the name of the product associated with the ProductID as the final column (which means it appears for every record returned). I already have a way of determining how many rows were returned, and use that information in a label to say "Your search has returned x records" at the top of the page, above the gridview...

This is a my solution to getting an Output parameter from a SqlDataSource. I have seen a few scant articles but none of them take it all the way to a solution. Hopefully this will help some poor soul. Situation: I want to do a lookup using a stored procedure for each value in a Row within a GridView. I use a lookup function in my code behind, evaluating the necessary bound fields. The problem is the SqlDataSource representing...

I've been going around and around on this one. I can't believe that it is "by design" as Microsoft says. Here's the situation: In *declarative* syntax, I'm trying to create a default datetime value for a SqlDataSource parameter. (I know how to insert this parameter in code. I want to use declarative markup.) Here's the declarative markup with ???????? indicating where I'm stumped.

Hi guys, I would like some help please. I have a grid view and an sql datasource that returns results of a search from a database using a stored procedure. I did all of this by drag and drop, not manually. In my sqldatasource_selected method, i have a label that suppose to display the number of records returned and it is not doing that, the first time, sometimes, it some how it is moody and out of sync. I tested the code with less than 10...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
